Apostle Duane Swilley

Internationally known speaker and author Apostle Duane Swilley is known for instilling a message of family, hope, and encouragement to audiences worldwide. He has published numerous books addressing topics from faith, family, and legacy.

As a graduate of Georgia Tech and a record-setting NCAA track athlete, Duane used his expertise in goal setting, management, and finances to become a valued and respected member of the Atlanta business community.

After several years in the business world, Duane was profoundly influenced by what he saw as an immediate need in the community to reach out to teenagers and young adults. The movement that grew out of this dream to see young people overcome the negative influences of teen culture was a nationally acclaimed group called ALPHA. This organization reached up to 25,000 individuals through a radical presentation of music, drama, and motivational speakers, growing into the most significant movement in the US.

Building on the success of this vital project, Duane turned his sights toward an international audience. Duane’s unique insights and presenting style brought him speaking requests worldwide.

Duane’s life-long pursuit has been to influence the lives of people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds to realize their value and purpose. He founded A Place Called Hope, now called Hope United, a church that focuses on training Kingdom Leaders in South Florida. Duane also covers many churches and national ministry leaders throughout North America and the Caribbean.

Duane lives in South Florida with his wife, Deborah Swilley, to whom he has been happily married for over 50 years.
